Designing a complete book is an all encompassing project. You have to keep track of many aspects, and liaise constantly with the Editor, the Authors, and the Photographer (as well as any Illustrators or external Designers). Project management is key. On top of that you have to actually create a well designed book. For 'Wild', I made several icons based on the elemental sections of the book (fire, water, air and earth), geometric patterns to break up the design (based on their year compass), and abstract symbol configurations that highlighted colours picked out from the photographs. These ran alongside clean typography and bold photography, resulting in a book that leads the way in plant-based recipes and thinking.
